Performance poem

Departure

When you are within my reach
My soul is awake
       Alert

It feels, it breathes
My mind tiptoes a step less dance
Of bliss
 But
once you leave
Blackened with grieve
Struck
With the blow of pain
 My minds’ dance falls motionless
 Breathless
 Darkness swallows everything I see
My heart restricted by this cobra coming
From within
 My own personal burglar
Stealing my humility in the night
Damn you soul of mine, Damn your grievances
 You turn me into

What I
Myself never thought I could be
Bludgeoned by self pity
My innocent heart takes it’s beating
I am witness to the crime
 But I am no whistleblower
   What I am
is weak.
